Acupuncture is part of the wider practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine or TCM, which has evolved over 3500 years.  It involves the insertion of single-use hair-fine needles into pre-determined 'acu' points on the body. It is a safe and effective treatment choice for many conditions. Each treatment is individually tailored to the patient and it focuses on the root cause of the problem and not just the symptom. It is a stand alone treatment but can be used safely in conjunction with conventional medicine.
